The Al Mallet Home

In the Village of River Ranch

In the heart of River Ranch lies a raised Creole Cottage home with a beautifully kept classic Southern Garden and Courtyard. This is one of the first homes built in this unique village neighborhood. An array of staple plants, such as Shi Shi camellias, Agapanthyus, Crepe Myrtles, Sweet Olives, and Azaleas, offers a lush backdrop for the beautifully arranged, hand-picked containers filled with annuals and perennials that always give more than "just a splash of color."

Antique cypress and oak benches and rocking chairs create a peaceful place to enjoy the view of colorful blooms while relaxing to the sounds of droplets of water spilling over the edges of the cast iron fountain.
The courtyard is filled with typical features of a Southern Garden such as cast iron kettles, crane statues, a circular and running bond brick walk and a statue of St. Francis that oversees the beautiful flowers, butterflies, honey bees and birds.

Leaving the rear of the courtyard is an arched gate, embellished with an antique climbing rose "Cramoisi superieur" (introduced in 1832). This rose is a deep Crimson Red, very fragrant repeat bloomer that complements the the courtyard's other antique rose, the "Archduke Charles" (introduced prior to 1837).
